"high end at low cost" 2010-04-17

Superb motherboard. Though appearing physically different than the one pictured on MSI's web site this board will still accept the latest bios as the "official" version. The only meaningful difference is the third pci-e is x1 and only one ide channel (2 drives max). The only faults I can find is that the northbridge heat sink is very fragile/thin and only the CPU fan speed is adjustable. That said, I was easily able to OC an e5200 to 3.67GHz on a 333fsb with just a minor voltage increase in only 10 min of work. With 6GB of ddr2, an hd4830 video card as primary (x16) and 8800gs as a dedicated physx co-processor (x8) games are effortless at 1680x1050. Just remember to set the bios ram command rate to 1T before overclocking to get maximum speed. Sorry for the jargon but this is really a board for hackers and HW enthusiasts. No additional drivers were need to install win7 x64, though you may wish to to enable added features if desired.

"Motherboard only...I Hope You Have Spare Sata Cables and..." 2010-03-12

know how to get the manual, drivers, because all that's shipped is the motherboard, I/O shield and SLI bridge in a plain, brown box. Now I know why it was so cheap. I've been building systems for 15 years so it's not a big deal to me but for some it might be. This could be a refurb for all I know. I've haven't installed it yet since it took over a week to arrive but I'll follow-up with how the install went. Hopefully it won't be DOA like the other reviewer. This will be my first MSI product but I took a chance based on the price.

"never got to use it DOA" 2010-02-14

the MOBO I received was DOA, so I cant say a whole lot about it

I bought it because it supported the Pentium D I had laying around, and could be upgraded to nicer Core 2's later. It was an added bonus that it came with dual PCIe X16's, and uses up to DDR2 800, so I could have made a decent cheapy gaming rig out of this board.

If you get this mobo, and it works for you, I am sure you will enjoy it(there are more expensive models out there, but for a wide range of compatable CPU's this was the best I could find)

if you are trying to build a game machine on a VERY tight budget, this board would be great in my opinion.

With the money you save on it, you could afford more for it(like an extra vid card to SLI) if you don't need a MOBO that can support back to the Pentium D, there are plenty of others that may be better, but most don't have the dual PCIe x16's

*I do have the micro ATX version of this same board, and it runs very stable(can't say much for it's big brother)
