 "Board does not support PCI-E RAID card" 2010-05-06

I brought this board for building a low power backup server. When I talked to their sales people before purchasing, they told me this board working fine with any RAID card. However, after purchased and found the LSI MageRaid PCI-E raid card did not work this board, their support did not want to do anything to resolve it. They first try to blame the RAID card. When I told them the RAID card working fine with Intel SuperMicro and Tyan motherboard, then they told me go talking to LSI to modify LSI firmware to work in their motherboard.



I am disappointed with their support. However, if you never need their support and the board just work for your configuraiton, you may consider this board for its low power applications (about 50W with HDD).

This is a very good, fast, and highly overclockable processor. What I don't like is that Amazon sells it $40 more expensive than competitors. I live in Hawaii and even with Amazon's Free Super Saver Shipping, I still saved $20 by buying it somewhere else and paying shipping.

At 2.5GHz per core, the E5200 can handle most games and applications without any trouble at all, and the 45nm form factor makes it great for people worried about power consumption on their computer.



I used this chip in a sub-$1000 build for a customer that wanted speed without overhead. Because of the low power consumption, this chip combined with 4GB of RAM and a 512MB nVidia GeForce 8600 ran happily on a 450 Watt Power Supply.
