I bought this motherboard in December 2009 to upgrade an old Dell. In general, it does everything I want. It is very good at being backward and forward compatible, meaning I could hook up a parallel printer or an HDTV (or both, technically). I have a lot of old stuff laying around, so I wanted a fast motherboard that could work with just about anything. It's got PCI-e and PCI, and is capable of adding a serial port because it has the pins on the board for a serial header, although you will need the proper plug. It does go quite fast. I run Windows 7 Home Premium, and it's wonderful. My only qualms are with the CPU socket and the memory capacity. Because this uses a G41 chipset (hence dG41kr), its maximum memory is only 4GB (the G41 chipset can address up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, or 4GB of DDR3, and this board uses DDR3). Plenty for me now (I'm using only 2), but better motherboards today go up to 16GB. I also am bothered that it comes with an LGA775 CPU socket, instead of the newer socket 1156, because it can only use Core 2 processors. Still though, that is pretty good, and I expect to get a good long life out of this board. If this board meets your needs, go for it, because you won't be disappointed. I only gave it 4 stars because of the memory capacity and CPU socket type.
