I consider myself tech savvy, more than the average bear if you will. I have generally loved ASUS products and have sworn by them for years. Until now. When you get a motherboard with integrated sound, video, ethernet, etc. you sacrifice a bit of performance sure, but I never expected this much. Video playback is choppy and stutters every so often to the point where I am annoyed constantly. While using the computer it tends to wait a split second every so often while it plays catch up. One might think it is a problem with the processor, ram, hard drive, etc. but it's not; see the specs below. I bought this board to replace the M378A-T that was damaged while I shipped my computer back home from overseas. Thanks USPS! Needless to say, I never had these issues with that ASUS board using an ATI chipset.
I contacted ASUS tech support and gave them the full run down of what I had in the system and what I had done to figure it out (driver updates, latest bios, etc)... there solution was to make sure I had the most updated drivers and current bios. Um, hello? Do you actually read what end users type into the problem statements on you online tech support?
The poor tech support and generally crappy feeling I get when I use the computer turned me off to ASUS forever, Gigabyte now has all of my business.
The one plus to this motherboard is that the Audio and Video over HDMI work and if used on an HDMI switch box or receiver actually wakes up properly.

I read a lot of negative reviews on this MOBO. I was; however, very pleasantly surprised when I received it. ASUS did a stellar job on the features this on this board. Onboard HDMI, full digital audio onboard, a dedicated cooling system for the expansion, 6 total pci slots, 6 Sata ports, supports up to 12 USB with, 6 output on the back, Firewire, e-sata, this board has a great bundle of features. The Bios is sweet and the 5 second to boot online surfing, photos, chat, etc. is super sweet. I have dual systems loaded on my computer running XP 32, and Vista 64, this is an AMD board that supports up to AM3 @ 140 Watts. I am very impressed with this product. It has run stable non-stop for 100 plus hours and the OC tools allow you to change the OC from the BIOS or the operating system. This is a really great product for a budget build, or for a semi-high end system. It has a lot of built in features, sli, hdmi, vga, pci, sata, hyperthread bus, amd2, amd2+, amd3....I will be able to utilize this board for a few years easy. Buy this product, great stet up, up and running in no time, back up VGA output, HDMI, Dolby Digital, tons of USB, you can't go wrong!

This MB is amazing. It has a nice components distribution, so I have not any problem putting in huge things like OCZ PC8500 DDR2 dual channel 4GB RAM.
It is green friendly, that's important for me. And the set of features is good.
It have a nice HDMI to DVI adapter, useful if you don't have a LCD display.
So I recommend the use of Asus if you want to build a high performance desktop PC.

The M3N72-D offers the best of the M2N plus so much more. It installed easly and its running cool as a ice cube. The new design spacing the vis cards makes it so much easyer for instlal of SLI cards. The only dislike about the board is the SATA box angle. it is facing out instead of up making it a pain in the rump to attach your drive cable.
over all I give it a 5 since I can see the up grades from previous boards Asus has put out.
