"Basic MB there are better options at Intel" 2010-02-26
By J. Z. Arce (Palmares, Costa Rica)
This is the small one:Intel DG41TY Classic Series G41 micro-ATX Intel Graphics DVI+VGA 1333MHz LGA775 Desktop Motherboard

Cons:

This motherboard is a basic one. First it is microATX. Support only DDR2 (800MHz max, only two memory bank). Too small for expansion, very discrete integrated grafics. Not HD audio. It still have PATA and Floppy (2010... for what?). Just 4 SATA connector on board. The PCIe slot is 1.1, not 2.0. If you have a grafic card of medium performance, you have to be careful because it overlap the PATA port and 1 or 2 SATA port.

Pros:

This is a microATX that support QuadCore 1333MHz FBS, thats really good. It is good for work or home not multimedia PC. It is stable and the few components that it has works good.

For basic computer is good, no more...

I recommed this Intel DG45ID Media Series G45 micro-ATX Intel Graphics HDMI+DVI 1333MHz LGA775 Desktop Motherboard

Good look with your internet and MS Word PC...good letters and e-mail ehh...

Actual System (owner my brother):

Thermaltake Element VK60001N2Z S Mid Tower Pro Series (good at all)

Thermaltake ToughtPower XT 750W (Just fly for the price)

Intel Motherboard DG41TY (thats the bottle neck)

Thermaltake RubyOrb Cooler CPU (coolest)

Intel Core2Quad 9450 2.66MHz (Thats good)

4Gg DDR2 800MHz Kingston ValueRAM (another bottle neck)

Two HDD 500Gg 7200rpm (not RAID)(buy DG45ID or someone bigger if you want it)

Zotac GTX275 896MB (It is PCIe 2.0)(to much for this MB)

 "Don't waste your money" 2010-02-22

I bought this mobo from Amazon, afte buying the same month the DG31PR Classic for my wife. I spected to be a little more advance, bad choice. After I install my new PC, the 2do. day of use, the LAN failed. So I had to buy another network card to be able to connect to internet and post this review to alert others!

The second issue I hate is (and I'm really trying to understand Intel), Why does this mobo has to beep twice at startup? So one can see it's all ok? Who gives a damn. BEEP when something IT'S Wrong!! The DG31PR doesn't do it and works great!

For last, don't waste your money, buy a DG31PR is less cost and better performance. AND IT DOESN'T BEEP!

"Good Price for a Good Motherboard" 2010-01-25

I bought this motherboard to build a descent mid-end system replacing a very old computer. It was very easy to install and the manual was very well explained about the MB's parts. Although I could not find the audio jumper configuration in the motherboard to choose between AC'97 and HD audio, I believe there was no need for it since the manual said HD audio was the default configuration and you would obviously prefer HD audio. Overall, very good price for a very good motherboard. Great for a mid-end system.
