"The ATX harness is too short!" 2010-01-25
By Tom Servo
This supply might be fine if you have a compact HTPC case but if you are using a minitower PC case which accepts a microATX supply the motherboard power connector harness is only 7" long and is likely to be too short! You may need an ATX extension cable in addition to this supply.

I recommend this microATX supply instead (the cables are 16" long):

 "Works good, but noisy" 2010-01-08
By S. Lin (San Jose, CA)
I bought this to replace a Apex power supply that died. It fit right in my HTPC case without an issue, but it's much louder than the original power supply. The fan really hums, and very noticeable when there's no other sound in the room. I can even hear it over the TV sometimes if the volume is low. Probably placing the HTPC in a stereo cabinet would probably help reduce the sound levels.

It has all the plugs to get my Asus Deluxe mother board to work. It has the extra pins for the more modern motherboard require for power so no adapter is needed (sorry can't remember the # of pins). My old Apex needed an adapter. The PS also comes with dedicated SATA connectors so no adapters are required for that too.

Price wise, it's hard to beat.

Over all it's a nice power supply, but a bit noisy.

"Good at first but fan is going..." 2009-09-23
By Matthew Greenberg (San Jose, CA USA)
This power supply is slightly cheaper than other brands but I can by a 380W power supply for $35. As they say, you get what you pay for...

I had to replace the power supply on my HP PC. It was easy to install and worked... Until recently, this week, I noticed that one of the fans in my HP sounded like the bearings were going... Well I took the cover off, and put my ear up to the CPU fan, processor fan and noticed that the fan in the power supply was making the noise. I had the power supply for 3 months and the fan is going. I probably can not get my money back and it is not worth it to take the power supply apart to replace the fan (since something else may decide to break on it)... (I did replace a power supply fan on a previous NEC PC that I owned however...)I am going to be buying a better power supply...

I know that electronic parts use cheap parts and the original power supply in my HP lasted 2.75 years. In my Dell desktop, it was around 2 years (and in one of my work places, the IT was replacing a lot of power supplies) In the old days, you did not have to replace power supplies as you do today. But, a power supply should not be having problems at the 3 month time period...

"Power supply worked and mounted easily" 2009-07-29
By D. Dorenbos (Illinois)
Power supply worked and mounted easily, it arrived with the free shipping in four days. Had all the right connectors to support both IDE and SATA drives. Not much more to say about a power supply, ask me again in two years.

The supply it replaced, a 380W from another vendor lasted only about a year and died while it was in standby mode.

 "Rare 300W in micro" 2008-10-29
By Jeffrey Putz (Cleveland, Ohio, USA)
Works as advertised, and it's relatively quiet. The only issue I had was that the main cable was a little on the short side. Almost didn't get it to the socket on the motherboard.
