"Mine worked! even though i had the HD set up from another board" 2010-03-04
By Sergei Kosmonov (New York)
I replaced my Asus P5Q with Intel's DP45SG I swapped everything even the HD containing the old board set up and...... It worked! the board picked up everything, after installing the new drivers and the sound drivers, it was fully functional.

I have added a pair or Corsairs XMS3 4GB 2x2gb sticks ddr3 9-9-9 24 Nvidia Geforce GTX 260, I have no problems , all works fine, just my hard drives are crammed by the video card being so bulky.

Overall it was easy to set up, i just hope Intel can come up with a better way of clamping those heat sinks to the CPU, i tell you i thought i broke it at one point.

"Nice motherboard, no estupid bugs, works great!!!!" 2010-02-04
By J. Z. Arce (Palmares, Costa Rica)
I have this to my new PC. I have to say this looks good. Ease instalation. It have all we needs to connect cards and periferals. No estupids add ons like PATA or floopy connector. DDR3 1333MHz (not support for 1600 or more, be carefull). I had read much problems with sound, i don't have any of that trouble and i don't get new BIOS yet.

A lot of USB, SATA.

Features

Intel Core 2 Quad 9650

DDR3 4Gg Corsair XSM3 1333MHz

CPU Cooler Thelmaltake Rubi Orb II

Grafics: ZOTAC GTX 275 896Mb (I'm waiting for XFX 5850 1Gg)

HDD Western Digital Caviar Green 1Tera (...yes!, i have to upgrade...) (and get two Caviar Blak for RAID 0)

Runs very good. A system win7 benchmark say a teorical 7.9 points, I Have very happy with 7.3 when I run this benchmark on my actual system (the bottle neck is the HDD).

Fully recommended this MOBO..... Get one if you want to upgrade your Quad Core to DDR3...

"what a peace of junk" 2009-12-06
By David Slater (Port Lavaca. tx. USA)
i dont see how others are doing better then me on this board. .Intel DP45SG Extreme Series P45 ATX DDR3 1333 2xPCIe 2.0x16 3xPCI 1333MHz FSB LGA775 Desktop Board - Retail

i cant get the sound to play right. i have trid with my sound card and the onboard sound. both sound bad. my sound card worked well on my old board.

and it runs like an old computer.

the only thing it will do better then my old one is windows will install the way it should.

my old motherboard runs and works so much better its unreal.

but.... windows is hell to load.

i would just toss it but i have 4 gb of ddr 3 mem for it and that cost a lot more.

i have the worst luck on building my computers now days.

there's a chance it could of been a bad board.

i just got a refund so i cant say for sure.

"Intel DP45SG Extreme Desktop Board will-not disappoint..." 2009-11-05

I used this board in building my first HTPC and am amazed at the speed and versatility it offers. I use this PC for entertainment rather than game-play and have not found a single weakness in it!

"Great features along with bugs" 2009-07-30
By Anthony Lau
This motherboard packs with great features as you can see from the board's spec. I like it in general except the audio. Whenever I connect the AC'97 to the motherboard, as long as I start playing music or anything related to audio. The screen will start hesitating along with choppy audio. I see many people are encountering the same issue and the only solution for now is to disconnect it with the motherboard. Which will cause the front panel audio disable. The second problem I see is the PCIe is not showing x16 at BIOS, instead it shows x8. Not sure if this is another bug, I still have to contact Intel for solutions. Other than that, it is pretty stable along with great performance even I am using a Core 2 Duo CPU. Hope the next BIOS will fix most of the problems from above.
